As a Volunteer Nature Educator, you will have the unique opportunity to share your knowledge, skills, and passion for nature with members of the Liana Trust’s Nature Club. This exciting initiative aims to foster a deeper connection between communities and their natural environment, encouraging a hands-on approach to conservation.
The Liana Trust’s Nature Club, based in Rathnapuri Village (Hunsur Talu), is designed to engage children, youth, and adults in exploring and understanding their surroundings. By contributing to the club, you will play an integral role in empowering local communities to lead conservation efforts and make a tangible impact in their neighborhood.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead or co-lead nature-based activities such as workshops, educational talks, and nature walks on topics aligned with your expertise

Engage with club members, fostering an inclusive and interactive learning environment

Support club members as they identify local environmental issues and collaborate to develop small-scale community projects to address them

Help organize and facilitate discussions on conservation challenges, inspiring members to take action

Act as a resource for club members, answering questions and encouraging curiosity about the natural world
Qualifications:

A strong passion for nature, conservation, and community engagement

Knowledge of local flora, fauna, or ecological systems is highly preferred

Comfortable with public speaking, leading discussions, and answering questions from a range of age groups

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Prior experience in environmental education, community outreach, or similar fields is a plus
Time Commitment:
Flexible, depending on your availability and the club's schedule of activities. Volunteers are expected to commit to regular sessions, including preparation for workshops or activities.
